Camera Lucida - Designed and 3D-modeled in Modo and 3D-printed on a Zortrax m200 printer. The function of a camera lucida is to allow an artist to see what is in front of them and the page they are sketching on simultaneously. The image is hazy, and with a design like this - very shaky, but it allows for much better judgment of proportions in the first 20 seconds, or so, of laying out an overall sketch. Following are some sketches started with this lucida as well as four that were finished with digital watercolor.
